I'll set up HE access for you later today when I'm back home.

If there is a need for some programming help, I would like to offer my assistance. I can't promise that I know a lot about game programming, but I am a programmer for my day job. I primarily program in c++, but I have been known to dabble in Java, python, a smidge of perl, and some php.

The key part of programming for this project is learning the script that the Hero Engine uses - http://wiki.heroengine.com/wiki/HSL - if you feel you're able to do that, then you'll still be able to contribute, even if you havem't programmed a game before.

I am certainly able to do that. I will start digging through the linked wiki. The best way for me to learn would be to mess around with stuff. I will check to see if there is some way to experiment with the Hero Engine scripting language.

Thanks for the information.

The easiest way to do that is to be given access to the engine.

For those wanting to get a hands on and change things to see what they do, Hero Engine does sell 1 seat engine access for a lower price than a full team. If you mess things up too much, we do have this engine for fixing yours. Just remember to write down the changes you made.

HeroCloud Subscription (1 Year + 1 Seat) - $99.95
HeroCloud Subscription (1 Year + 10 Seat) - $199.95

Most of my programming experience is likely to be of less use to you all than some of the C++ guys here - I'm principally a web guy on the C#.NET stack (also some Python, Java). I'm available to lend a hand if necessary, though.

What skills are needed? I am proficient with R and MATLAB. Most of my experience is with mathematical and statistical programming. If there are skills that the team is short on (and does not need immediately), I would be more than happy to buy a book and teach myself.

The engine we are using has a scripting language called hero script. There is alot of details on their boards on how to use it. It is a bit different from regular programming languages like C++ and Java. They do not have a book on this language. Some say it is a bit like Eve, with a high learning curve in the begining.
